piffle.. well I hope you find a cheaper and nicer house soon.
I didn't realise buying a house was so complicated, and I REALLY hope my vendor doesn't back out, 'cos I don't fancy going through all this paperwork again. (am slightly terrified as the offer they accepted was below the asking price.)
I printed out a couple of potential candidates over the weekend, so I wouldn't be too disappointed if this happened! They're both very nice, but of course the trouble now that term has started is that it's once again very difficult to find time to see them. I will try to get along later this week, though.
It does happen sometimes, I'm afraid. Once they've accepted your offer, it is considered a bit underhand to go back on that. But it would be nice in that position to have better protection than just having to hope the sellers are decent people who won't screw you around!
One thing we've realised though (as someone trying to sell a house) is that at the moment it's a buyer's market - so there will be plenty of other houses that come up.
Don't worry, I'm not trying to sell you ours (though it is only 30 minutes from Leeds)
Yes, there's a fair old crop of them - and I've noticed quite a lot more nice ones coming up now the weather's nice than I was used to seeing in January and February. I'm sure I'll get there eventually...

Of course it may mean that the Even More Perfect House is waiting in the wings.
