Sorry, but I've never liked K-9. The most astonishing thing about 'School Reunion' is that it actually made me care about a character that up to then I despised.
I think it may be a generational thing. If you were over ten in 1976, K-9 was an embarrassing step back to juvenalia for a programme that had been maturing with its audience, making Doctor Who more childish than it had ever been before. If you were under 10, then I guess K-9's always been part of the programme's make-up, and less objectionable.
