I am genuinely sorry that I will never be able to have the experience of watching it fresh, and gasping and squealing with each new discovery, ever again.

Me too! I started the week with only one eye on it and lukewarm interest after having given up 3/4 of the way through the last series, but from Wednesday onwards I have been absolutely glued to it. Excellent stuff.
