It looked at my interests to get this... right?

latin is love
(lingua latina amor est)
brought to you by the isLove Generator

Yes, I did add the translation in the second line myself: seemed kinda appropriate. Perhaps even nicer would have been 'latina lingua amoris est': 'Latin is the language of love'. :)

Unfortunately, though, the rather lovely purple 'rainbow' banner it generated for me doesn't display itself, and I haven't been able to see them when other people have done this meme either. I looked at the code and can't see a good reason for this: it works by creating a table of 6 cells, each containing a non-breaking space, and with the background colour in each cell set to a different shade of purple, which seems sensible to me, and did work on the isLove Generator page. Anyone know what's going on? Are my journal's colour settings over-riding it? Can anyone else see it, for that metter?

I suspect it's a browser thing. I use Firefox/XP at work, and spent some time hitting refresh on people's "...is love" entries because I couldn't see the banner. When I read my friends' pages at home (Safari/OSX) there they all were, in all hues.

I don't think it is, because I can see it (with Firefox) on the 'Is Love' generator page, and also when I get notification emails in my Yahoo account from LJ, telling me people have commented on this post. Plus, when I go outside my journal and into other people's set-ups, again, I can see it. So it must be just something in the code which controls my journal's colours... which I have no idea as to the nature of, because it's just one of LJ's standard options.

That makes sense. I can see it in my Friends view, but not in your Journal view.

I figured as much. If I had any idea how, I'd fix this, but I don't, so I'll have to just let it go, I think!
