Two nights ago, I went to see Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events with damien_mocata and queen_phreak. I thought it was marvellous, with the real highlight being little Sunny.

But is it wrong for me still to be going round singing the 'Happy Little Elf' song???

Marvellous ? Hmm. I've been wondering if anyone else had seen it, and whether I could compare notes.

I thought it was nearly very good. Very pretty, very atmospheric in a Time-Burton-ish way. Some really nice bits. But I came out feeling an overall sense of disappointment, and that it wasn't as good as it could have been.

I can't work out why though, and it's bugging me.

Then again, its probably not as wrong as being quite pleased when the Happy little elves appeared in the first place. not that I was. oh dear : /

Had the film not been so enjoyable, I would have been disappointed that I _didn't_ get to see a film about happy little elves...
