I loved this episode. It felt strongly like classic Who, and it was fun to watch all the references (including the Errol Flynn bridge scene). Also the sonic screwdriver was used perfectly here (used to unscrew a bolt last episode, pointless blowing up of scenery in this, clearly showing how he relies on it too much by taking it away when he needs it to unlock some chains, them escaping anyway despite losing the key because it was funny and happened offscreen).

However, I was surprised to find that it divided a lot of people. The re-enactors in particular seemed to dislike it, and claimed the script was terrible and the historical inaccuracy unbearable (one pointed out that the Sheriff seemed to be carrying a C16 knife!). Personally I think they clearly weren't trying to do historical accuracy at all, and were instead doing "Movie Robin Hood", in which they succeeded very well.
