I'm establishing this account, with thanks to the lovely stompyboots, merely so that I can post comments on other people's LiveJournals without having to be anonymous.

So don't bother checking back here for regular updates, 'cos there won't be any!

Thanks for my first ever LJ comment - I don't expect to get many more, either, due to the I-won't-actually-be-writing-a-diary-here factor.

But I have already added you to my friends list, so I will be reading your posts and occasionally commenting in the future!

BTW, where does your LJ nickname come from? It makes me think of Roman towns like Venta Silurum (now Caerwent), which means 'Market of the Silures'. Are you from such a town, or something?

Roman towns is exactly where it's at - I was (re)reading Rosemary Sutcliffe's kids novels set in Roman Britain when I created the journal, and since all the online monikers I'd used before were gone, it seemed like a good idea. I just liked the name.

I originally said I wouldn't write a diary either, then couldn't resist my own personal soapbox on the web :)
