Sorry chaps...

... but this isn't going to be a record of my daily deeds and thoughts - that stuff happens in my actual diary, which is PRIVATE (mwa-ha-ha-ha!).
I'm establishing this account, with thanks to the lovely
stompyboots, merely so that I can post comments on other people's LiveJournals without having to be anonymous.
So don't bother checking back here for regular updates, 'cos there won't be any!
Have a nice day, now!

Date: Friday, 12 December 2003 07:00 (UTC)Hiya Liz!
Date: Friday, 12 December 2003 08:49 (UTC)But I have already added you to my friends list, so I will be reading your posts and occasionally commenting in the future!
BTW, where does your LJ nickname come from? It makes me think of Roman towns like Venta Silurum (now Caerwent), which means 'Market of the Silures'. Are you from such a town, or something?

Date: Friday, 12 December 2003 10:44 (UTC)I originally said I wouldn't write a diary either, then couldn't resist my own personal soapbox on the web :)
Re: Hiya Liz!
Date: Saturday, 13 December 2003 02:39 (UTC)As for the lure of a soapbox, well, we'll see what happens - I of course fully reserve the right to break my own rules!

Date: Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:08 (UTC)Don't worry, I didn't discover you had an LJ until ages after I created mine. I think I saw a post by you in someone else's journal I was reading, or something.
I was wondering about the baby, actually, and knew it was due around nowish. And I have been meaning to arrange a weekend in the London area, catching up with you and also my friend Lowri whom I also haven't seen for ages. It's likely to be April or after before I can manage it, though: life is mighty busy with my teaching job at Warwick. I'm also supposed to be turning my thesis into a book at the moment, which is daunting and scary and time-consuming too.
Anyway, I will really _try_ to find time, to see both you and Chica, and the new baby when it arrives!
Penny

Date: Sunday, 4 April 2004 11:58 (UTC)I didn't realise you had an LJ, till I saw you post on Tracey's journal. Would you mind if I added you to my friends list? (it is Stella here btw)
Hi Stella!
Date: Sunday, 4 April 2004 12:30 (UTC)I just browsed through your LJ and your user page, and it sounds like life is going pretty well for you, which is good to hear. I'm working at the University of Warwick this year, and looking for stuff for next year. I just learnt I've got a job interview for a 3-year post at Nottingham at the end of April, so I'm crossing fingers for that.
Take care,
Penny

Date: Sunday, 4 April 2004 16:16 (UTC)Things aren't going too badly for me, except for juggling the PhD with work & feeling a bit overwhelmed. I'm coping so far though.
Good luck for the job in Nottingham, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
