strange_complex: (Purple and black phone)

Dring! Dring!

Whee! My purple and black phone has arrived!

I have tested it out with the help of my mobile, and it works perfectly. Outgoing calls take about a minute to make, as you wait for the dial to rotate back round to its starting position after each number. But hell - when I was a kid, that was all part of the ritual of making a phone call. And when I tried it out in the other direction, and heard it ring for the first time, I actually jumped up and down with excitement! It sounds like a real phone. *nostalgic and slightly manic grin*

In pre-emptory celebration, I made a new icon of it a couple of days ago, which I now introduce here. This will also shortly become my new [livejournal.com profile] sms_to_lj icon. It replaces Sophia Loren on the phone, which is sad, but I'm going to make a new Sophia icon soon and slot her in in place of one of the ones I don't really use, so she won't be lost forever.

Meanwhile, trying out my phone myself is all very well, but obviously nothing like as exciting as getting a Real Phone Call(TM). So if anyone is a bit bored, call me - please? Landline number is here.

mouse over it, then you'll see the point.

Hint - it's an Ian Paisley frog.

Hmm - does the mousing work in Firefox? 'Cos I can see Ian Paisley's face, an' all, but nothing much changes when I point my mouse at it.

I'm afraid all Firefox gives is "The image “http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/33719459/1300163” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."

How strange! Maybe it's 'cos I'm still on Windows ME?

I'm using Firefox on XP and nothings happening...

PS. slightly off-topic, but do you watch those piano man stories? It turned out to be a hoax.

Yeah, I heard that in the end on the radio. Apparently the hospital trust are thinking of suing him for wasting their services. A very prosaic end to what had seemed such a romantic story...

I know - it's such a shame it had to come to an end - my imagination was running wild and I had him pictured as all sorts of things.

But his little stunt did manage to piss off a lot of people and they are considering on suing him, whether they actually do is another matter, after all it is the NHS. I heard the reason he managed to last so long was due to his previous job with autistic children and other mental disorders. Such a shame he felt he had to use it in this particular way...

I don't know who annoys me more - the frog or the professional bigot...

I'm loosing my ability to concentrate as I now have *that* ringtone going incessantly through my head...
