Tom Felton remains strong

Absolutely, I think he acts a lot of the other student cast members off the stage, and has been really impressive in the last couple of films.

Emma Watson is certainly better in this too - although I wonder if that's because she's outside Hogwarts, where she gets a bit typecast as the rather predictable know-it-all.

Helena Bonham-Carter had a better script to work with in this film, as she got to do more proper acting rather than endless witchy cackles.

Agreed with the pacing - I think the publishers of the books have been too scared to do much editing. Almost all the books since Goblet of Fire have been too long, and it's made scripting the films a challenge. I thought parts of it dragged too much. But...overall I was pleasantly surprised, especially in that splitting a book into two films presents a challenge with the ending, which still needs a decent cliffhanger. I think that was delivered pretty well.
