I love Stephen Fry. I don't watch QI now because I watch Spoons on Channel 4 at the same time (and have a very basic VCR/TV combo and no digital), but remember getting similarly excited when he once went on an extended excursus about the derivation and usage of the Greek word tmesis.
My mum revers to it as "I, Clavdivs" all the time, she was most pleased :D
One thing which slightly annoyed me about tonight's show, or perhaps it was a joke that I really missed - which animal does have the shortest/worst memory?
