The Return of the Three Musketeers was just on Channel 4... except I didn't know this until about half an hour before the end, and hence seem to have managed to miss the entirety of Christopher Lee's performance in it. Very annoying, since I've never seen it before, and would definitely have taped it if I'd known. *Grinds teeth*
I do try very hard to keep track of his appearances on TV, mainly using DigiGuide, but of course searching for the string "Christopher Lee" only brings up items where he is billed fairly high in the credits, since DigiGuide obviously can't list every single actor who appears in every film shown. Sometimes I get lucky and spot things which don't come up on a search... and sometimes I don't. :(

Date: Saturday, 4 December 2004 13:20 (UTC)It's set 20 years after the first two films (The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers), and his character, Rochefort, has spent the intervening time in the Bastille. Now, he emerges, and attempts to deal with his wayward illegitimate daughter by Milady de Winter, Justine, played by a dashing and delicious Kim Cattrall (who seems to spend a pleasing proportion of the film wearing tight leather breeches and duelling with people).
But I know most of the above merely from reading about it in a book on Christopher Lee's career: not, sadly, from having seen the film.
However, it is available on video, although not yet on DVD (which the first two films are), so doubtless I will get to see it some time.

Deleted and re-entered due to errant apostrophe. You, of all people, will surely understand.

Date: Monday, 6 December 2004 01:35 (UTC)I still haven't seen The Four Musketeers yet, anyway, although it is on my Amazon wish-list! Since I've now drawn that list to Santa's attention (i.e. my Mum's), there's a reasonable chance I'll get it for Xmas!
