I didn't spot any direct Bad Wolf references in last night's Doctor Who, but a bit of surfing around the BBC's 'spoof' Doctor Who websites has revealed that there was one after all.

If you didn't spot it yourself, check out the latest version of 'Who Is Doctor Who' and this U.N.I.T. press release. And yes, 'Schlechter' does mean what you think it means!

Ooh I had a feeling that might have something to do with Bad Wolf :) Sort of suggests even more that it's Jack who is the Bad Wolf, or who is responsible for the whole Bad Wolf phenomenon. Similarly, he mentioned last night that he's lost 2 years of his memories...perhaps he's the one responsible for the Jagrafess?

Yep, those two years are definitely going to come back and haunt us, I think! I still don't think he can actually be the Bad Wolf, because Rose hadn't seen him at the time Gwyneth said she'd seen the Bad Wolf. But it's looking increasingly likely that he's involved in some way, yes.

Oh, and is it just me, or does he remind you of Mr. Big (Chris Noth) in Sex and the City? Physically and as characters, I think they're really similar!

They are very similar, I hadn't thought of that :)

I think Gwyneth's statement didn't necessarily mean that Rose had already met the Bad Wolf, but a prediction for the future: she also says that Rose has been thinking about her father more than usual, but that doesn't actually seem to happen until 'Father's Day' and even then she tells the Doctor she hadn't been planning to see her father, she'd only just been thinking about it. Just a thought anyway.

I think Rose had been thinking about her father a lot, but she didn't want to let on.

Aye, but Gwyneth's exact words (from this page (http://ned.ucam.org/~sdh31/tv/badwolf.html)) are:

"And you, you've flown so far, further than anyone! The things you've seen. The darkness. The Big Bad Wolf..."

It sounds more like a reference to Rose's past experiences to me.

This is kinda irrelevant, but because that was a WWII-era episode, the thing that hit me is that Hitler was known as "Herr Wolf" to some of his inner circle. Just a coincidence, but freaky... :/

I think I've missed something, as I don't understand the relevance :-)

However, the past two weeks' Dr. Who were the first I'd seen this season (I know, I'm bad!)

Anyone care to explain?

Try here (http://ned.ucam.org/~sdh31/tv/badwolf.html) for the Bad Wolf references so far, and one possible theory about what they mean.

Bit off-topic, but have you seen the picture of Eccleston in the link below? http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/gallery/

I wonder why the bbc website has a pic of him in a more 'traditional' DW costume (almost Victorian I think) when they said from day one that he'd be in leather jacket and jumper - could this be something to do with the future episodes, maybe the whole 'Doctor-as-Bad-Wolf' scenario)?

Ooh, I see what you mean! Even when they went to Victorian Cardiff, he still wore his leather jacket, didn't he? (Even though he made Rose get changed!)

It could be just a red herring, I suppose - maybe just a promotional shot from a period when they were playing around with different costumes. But I like to think that you're right - that it will turn out to have some greater significance when we see later episodes.

Isn't that picture from Clive's story about the family who didn't sail on the Titanic in Rose?

Ah, you're quite right - so it is (http://www.whoisdoctorwho.co.uk/visualdata.shtml).

Hi,
regarding Bad Wolf, I've found this is one of the best places to look at clues - http://www.matthewman.net/archives/2005/05/03/bad_wolf_hunting.php
I think the Adam idea is a good one. The Master is not set to return this series so it can't be him.

Thanks for the link - that is good. I'm not convinced about Adam, but I don't have any particularly strong ideas of my own! I'm just enjoying waiting to find out.
