Bound for the Land of the Angles

strange_complexJust a brief note to the effect that I'm flying to England tomorrow morning to spend the weekend in Birmingham, and will be back in Belfast on Wednesday. I don't expect this to stop me keeping up with LJ, as my parents are fully hooked up to the web.
Several of you I will of course see on Sunday, disrupted travel services permitting. For those who don't know, I shall be exactly half my mother's age that day (9669 days old for me, 19338 for her), so we are having a party to celebrate this event with family and a few friends. Unlike her, I do not propose to spend my 9669th day on this earth giving birth to a bouncing baby girl.
A small thing to be grateful for today: at least commentators on both sides of the Atlantic will be able to agree about how to express the date.
